iPhone First Thoughts
First, my experience with AT&T was not exactly pleasant. I waited outside it seemed like forever because they were only letting five people in to the store at a time. I mean, they locked the door to keep people out. It also took a lot of time to actually get the phone because they were trying to do credit checks which failed half the time and actually brought the computers down. The other sales people learned and decided not to do the credit checks but my salesperson was a little older and kept trying. People that got into the store after I did left before I did. It was not cool.
Second, the phone itself is awesome. I have one minor complaint though. While using the Google maps applet, the thing reset (went back to home screen) three times after zooming in really far and switching to satellite view. Not sure what’s up with that. It was very annoying and did not leave a good taste in the mouth of the person who I was demoing the phone to.
Finally, I ported my number from Verizon so this might be the reason, but I failed to receive three texts earlier this evening. That really won’t work for me so I’m hoping it’s a hiccup that will be fixed in the immediate future.
