Freebirds – 1, Chipotle – 0
So yesterday, on the way back to the hotel, I found the closest Chipotle (for those not in the know, it’s a burrito place similar to the Moe’s franchise we’ve got in Spartanburg) and tried it out. I just wasn’t all that impressed. The shear number of condiments at Moe’s drastically outnumbers those available at Chipotle; the rice is much more bland at Chipotle, too.
For dinner tonight, on the recommendation in the Austin Chronicle, I tried out Freebirds. It’s another burrito place and much more similar to Moe’s than Chipotle was. Not only was it more like Moe’s, it was better, too. They had more options for the flour tortilla, more condiments (can you say cilantro?), and the salsa was good, too.
So, yeah, Freebirds gets my vote! Oh, and just in case you didn’t know it (I didn’t), Chipotle is owned by McDonalds. Um… no wonder I preferred Freebirds.
