This is a special day, I’ve tried my best to keep up with it over years, and have even posted about it before. My car turns five today. Five years ago tonight, I drove my Techno Blue Volkswagen New Beetle TDI home for the first time. It was, to put it succinctly, awesome. Bought brand new, I babied it for a long time, though not so much now as I used to. It just flipped 77,000 miles this week as we celebrated a wonderful five years with an oil change and a bath. Maybe I’ll get some fresh flowers this weekend and really do it up in style! :)
Anyway, this picture was taken a couple weeks ago on the Blue Ridge Parkway. We all drove up there (my parents took their van) and had lunch and enjoyed a nice spring afternoon. I took a few pictures of the trip, so some of them may get worked in to the queue, too. So, enjoy your autos today, I know I will!
Aww, Happy Birthday to your Beetle! My Jetta turns 4 on the 27th–I guess April is a popular month to buy VWs! :)
Thanks! I guess it is. When I was at the dealership to pick up my car, I overheard talk that they were really busy, so who knows.
By the way, long time no comment (or e-mail for that matter)! I guess you’re busy with your new job. :)
