PowerBook

pb15s.jpgI am so tempted to get a refurb unit at the online Apple store. It’s $1,900 for the current generation. That’s a savings of 18% off the new-price ($2299). For 1,900 bucks, I’d get a 1.67Ghz G4, 80GB hard drive, 512MB RAM, Superdrive (dvd-rw, cdrw), Bluetooth 2.0, wireless networking via a 802.11G inteface (airport extreme), and a 64 MB Radeon 9700. Not to mention the uber-swank backlit keyboard! hehe It doesn’t have the 100GB hard drive or the 128MB video card that can drive the huge 30″ display, but do I really need those things? Are they worth $600? I kinda doubt it.

Ah.. decisions, decisions. Why must it be so hard? At a price like that, it’s so very hard to say, “Wait!”

I’m also waiting to get a new 15″ PowerBook. I thought we would see new ones at the Paris Expo, but Apple let me down there, so now I’m hoping for an update at Tuesday.

Are you kidding? You can get a Canon 20D with a sweet lens for $1900… come on, man, you sit at a computer all day at work… you need a mega-awesome DSLR camera! You know you want one…
