iMac

I just checked out the Apple website and was greeted with pictures of the new iMac! The design is pretty cool. Since the whole back of the case comes off, it should mean upgradabing is much easier. The coolest thing about it is the price tag. A 17″ 1.6Ghz G5 iMac starts at only $1299, several hundred dollars cheaper than the cheapest G5 tower. They are marketed at different people, of course. Still, I wouldn’t mind having a G5 iMac! It would take up a lot less room than a Powermac and would be sufficiently fast enough to squelch my Mac speed dreams.

    I must say that I’m highly impressed by the new shape and look and design of the iMac, but I’m not too keen on the 17inch model. I think I would push myself to go for top of the line.
