Homeowner Finally
Well, I closed on the house today at 5:00 p.m! It was crazy at the end, too. I didn’t find out that I was going to have to pay the remainder of closing costs until a little after lunch time, and didn’t know exactly what I had to pay until about 4:40 p.m. That is way too close in my book, but it worked out. I was only a little late to the attorney’s office and still managed to beat the realtor’s assistant. There are still two major things that need to be done. There was a mix up and the builder didn’t know that today was closing so he had to rush around getting some of the things on my list done. The stove wasn’t scheduled for delivery until Monday, so it might not show up until then. I think he was going to try to get it delivered earlier. The house, driveway, walkways, and porch need to be pressure washed too. That is going to happen Saturday.
Best Buy called while I was in closing and left a message: the refrigerator will be delivered sometime tomorrow between 9 and 11 a.m. I may take the morning off to take care of that, but it’s also possible that my mom could go up to the house and let them in. In any case, my family is coming over shortly to help take a load or two of boxes over to the house. What a day! I’m going to sleep wonderfully tonight!
