Question: Do you like and use theming?
My answer: Nope, I never have and never will with my Mac. Primarily because you cannot convince me that my computer will not have some ill effects, minor or major. Erik’s post links to Unsanity’s Shapeshifter software and while it looks interesting, I’m very skeptical. I realize it’s not the same thing, but I remember playing around with theming software for my PC. Making themes work usually included alternate shells which required much more time to set up and configure than I had to give or were cost prohibitive – I couldn’t justify spending any money on a product that just made Windows look different. And when I did get them to work every now and then, the OS was even more unstable than before I started! No thanks. So I’ll just acknowledge the existence of themes and go merrily on my way.
