Weekend (Short Mix)

I’ve been slack this weekend with the posts but anyway, here’s a quick rundown of what I was up to this weekend. Friday after work I went downtown for the JM Smith Corporate picnic. It was ok, the food left a little to desire though (the baked beans were way underdone and it just didn’t seem like much food at all). I won a 90″ by 90″ kiddie pool and two beach towels. Fun stuff, let me tell you. And then the rain came. I took off and headed to meet some friends for dinner and a movie. We wound up eating at Applebee’s and seeing 2 Fast 2 Furious. The movie was ok, but the main draw was the car action since the acting wasn’t superb. I’d probably give the movie a 6 out of 10 since the action was awesome.

Saturday morning, I took it easy. Around 2 p.m., BT came over with his old and new computers so I could help him move a couple of the drives from the old one to the new one. I *hate* Dell computers! The case was a major pain, since it took a lot of effort to get access to all the screws holding the DVD and CDR-W drives in place. Working with his new computer definitely made me jealous for a new system too. I’ll get one soon enough so it’s all good. When we finally got the computer fixed and everything working I went out and bought a pair of dress shoes to wear dancing last night, and to work since my current pair isn’t allowed.

Dancing at the Starlight Ballroom was awesome! Unlike Dockers, where most of the music is Shag music, the Starlight had a much wider selection of music! People were doing the Waltz, Fox Trot, Meringue, Cha Cha, and the Rumba. I think everybody learned a little of at least one of the different dances. I learned the basic step of the Fox Trot. It was a really fun evening! I think we are going back July 19th, the next night the place is open!

Ok, Mr. Astair…..I’ll have to be sure to go out the next time the place is open.
