PS2 and Best Buy Trip

I ordered a refurbished PS2 system complete with extra controller and Grand Turismo 3 today from EBGames. I also got a DVD remote with it since the PS2 has a built in DVD player. The only one I had was the player in my laptop so this should make it easier to watch DVD’s.

So, to celebrate Ben, Troy and I went to Best Buy to look at other games and stuff. I picked up a copy of Star Wars Clone Wars and Crash Bandicout. I played Crash last Thursday night at the dinner party and thought it was pretty cool. And the Star Wars game is self-explanatory. I’m probably going to get a copy of Jedi Starfighter sometime. It should be pretty cheap since it’s listed as a Lucasarts PS2 Classic game. I’ll have to look around for it. The other game is Jade Cocoon 2 that Ben is wanting me to play. If I can get it cheap, I’ll pick it up. It’s a pretty cool game, but probably requires more time than I really want to devote to it.

I also took a look at entertainment centers. It’s about time I finished decorating and furnishing my living room. I saw a pretty nice one but it was $300 dollars. It also didn’t seem too quite what I wanted, not that I really know what it is that I want. I know I want it to be wood stained a similar shade as my futon and end tables. I looked at Lowes too since we stopped there to let Ben look at grills but they didn’t really have anything fantastic. I need to look at Wal-Mart sometime. I guess I just need to figure out what it is that I want.

You should check out DOA2 (very fun game). Sorry, I forgot to bring that extra memory card!

I have trouble going backwards with video games. It would be tough to play DOA2 since I’ve already spent so much time playing DOA3 on the XBox.

Oh, and I’m really leaning towards that grill with the deep fryer thing on the side!

XBox … they still sells those things?!?

Yup, they just have like 5 games out for it though. and only DOA3 and Halo are keepers.

I’ll agree with Halo being a keeper … I can not justify buying a console for just one game, that is unless the game is GT3.

Yup, I agree. The Gamecube actually has some games that look fun. I’m debating renting one some weekend to try them out.

I happen to like xbox. They don’t have as many games out yet but there will be soon. Didn’t you know Microsoft is taking over everything and plans to buy out all of its competition? I have a racing game and a baseball game that are both very good.

I am the evil overlord in charge of MS. I have no plans to release more games for the system, because its more evil to make the current XBox owners sweat it out, anticipating new games while they have a $300 investment collecting dust.

There are no good racing games for the XBox … if it isn’t GT3, then it isn’t worth buying.

True enough. GT3 is the best, hands down. Until GT4 comes out, anyway.

On the topic of XBox’s … I hear they make great, cheap servers … especially if one has an ethernet add-on. That is primarily why they sell, cheap hardware.

I thought the XBox came with built-in ethernet …

It does. That’s why it is so sweet to convert into a Linux box.
