My Obsessions
I should be going to bed since I feel like crap, but I wanted to post. I started feeling bad early in the afternoon and by five I really wanted to go home. But I stayed after because I had to roll the libraries over. I didn’t leave until around 7pm!
Sometimes I think my job is kinda like an involuntary obsession.
Waiting for me at home though was some good mail. I got my Star Wars Insider magazine and since May marks the 20th anniversary of Return of the Jedi, it came with a fold out full size poster which looks like a reworked official movie poster for the movie. I really need to get a couple frames so I can put out my Yoda Imax poster and now this Ep. VI poster. Maybe I’ll try to find a real (non-folded) poster of the Jedi poster.
This movie is one of the most important for me since it was the only one I saw in the theater when it first came out. I was 5 then and my dad took me and my sister Hope (I think) to see it when we were living in Louisville, KY. I don’t remember a lot about it but I have fuzzy memories of going. It must have been around this time that I got some SW toys too. I know I had a Luke figure, and maybe a Lando but I remember having an Ewok too. In fact, I probably still have the Ewok somewhere packed up. Probably isn’t worth a lot, but it’s just a cool part my Star Wars obsession.
Those that know me well, know this is true. I think going to the midnight showing of the last movie, Attack of the Clones pretty much seals the deal. Not to mention my affinity for Star Wars LEGOs. I also consider myself fairly knowledgeable about Star Wars trivia. And in case anyone wants to get me something for my birthday in a few months, I’d love to have any Star Wars board game (examples: SW Trivial Pursuit, SW Monopoly).
