bunch of stuff
haven’t posted in awhile. work has kept me busy and actually restricted access to the internet. it’s a good thing i guess. lots has been going on though. last week was both good and bad. I got a few LEGO sets, one in the mail and another two Saturday before last before seeing the new Austin Powers movie (which was pretty good :) I picked up a Droid Fighter, the Technic Battle Droid, and the pricey Snowspeeder. The first two were on sale at KB Toys.
Friday’s Putt-Putt game was kinda bad. I had a few unlucky shots and finished 7 over! :( This week’s match is the last one of the tournament.
Saturday was the anxiously awaited rafting trip down the Ocoee river, part of which was the location of the ‘96 Olympics Kyaking event. It was really fun but was a very long day. We met at 8:30 and didn’t get to the rafting company until just after 1:30. We were on the river by around 2. Going down the river was fun but also a little stressful since the rapids were larger than the ones I’ve gone down on the Nanthahala. I didn’t fall out but there was one place that just about ejected me. Two people that were in my boat got thrown out there. At the end of the run our guide said we could get out and float down the river. It was pretty cool, especially since it was raining too. It did suck at the end since I was about 15-20 yards away from the boat and since I can’t swim it would have taken me forever to get there if not for two of the girls in my boat that pulled me in. Unfortunately, sometime on the way down the river I split the bottom of my shorts, so when I was pulled back in the boat they got a nice eyeful of my tighty whitey covered rear end through the large split. It kinds sucks thinking about it now, but I didn’t even know I had the split in them until I got home! I guess that saved me from a lot of embarassment. Everybody was cool about it but still.
My family got some bad news last week too. Wednesday we found out that my mom’s mom has colon cancer. I haven’t heard how bad but it’s still sad regardless. They had to tell Hope over the phone this past weekend. Hopefully it isn’t too bad.
