it is truly amazing to see our great country come together at this great and sorrowful time. you can’t buy an American flag anywhere it seems. how odd is that? i’m no economist but i’m sure the demand is far greater than any july the fourth holiday season or, who knows, maybe more than one holiday season. the red cross has received millions of dollars in aid, over 3 million as of yesterday logged at the amazon.com site. i have browsed many personal logs that have offered information such as photos taken by citizens of NY and opinions and thoughts relating to the tragedy. to me, and probably to many Americans, the pictures of this disaster will be forever remembered. it is nearly impossibly for me to not bawl while viewing the photo essays at time.com. but i know one thing for certain… we shall overcome. we will rise from the ashes and show the world that we will not be beaten into submission, for that is just not what Americans do.
